Movie Ready Player One (2018)
Ready Player One is a science fiction movie, written by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline, based on a 2011 novel of the same name. It is one of the most famous Sci-fi movies. Its worldwide box office was about 583 million US dollars.
The director of the movie is Steven Spielberg. The movie started filming in July 2016. Its budget is about 175 million US dollars which is quite a lot.
The most special thing about the movie is that it has many factors from those famous movies in the past years. There are a lot of different elements in the movie to honor these classics including Movie Jurassic World, Back to the Future, King Kong, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Pulp Fiction, The Shining, etc. Scenes from games such as Overwatch, Super Mario, Pac-Man, StarCraft, The Legend of Zelda as well as characters or settings from Japanese animations and classic cartoons.

Story
The story happens in 2045, to escape from the mess in the real world, people start to go to the virtual reality world, OASIS. The maker of OASIS, James Halliday had hidden a Golden Easter egg inside the game when he died, the first person to find it can become the owner of OASIS and Halliday's 500 billion-dollar legacy. It is not easy to find the egg. They have to solve the clues and find 3 keys for the location of the egg.
This attracts many Gunters (People who are looking for Halliday's Easter egg in OASIS) and Halliday's adverse company Innovative Online Industries, IOI, to search for it in the game. IOI even hired a group of people called the "Sixers" to search for the keys.
Parzival, our main character is one of the Gunters. He works with friends Aech, Daito and Sho to find the keys. Then, he meets Art3mis, the female main character who is fighting against IOI and searching for keys.
The first challenge, Car Race in Manhattan is so hard that nobody can ever get the key. They have to get through the whole car race, but no one had ever passed the last part, King Kong.
To overcome the challenge, Parzival looks for hints in the museum, which recorded Halliday's life and quotes. In Halliday's words, he finds the secret path behind the starting line. They shall go backward instead of rushing forward. By going backward, he goes into a new route below the trail which goes directly to the finish line. Soon, he becomes the first one to get the key and the clue of the second challenge.
Through the clues, we can understand that we do not always have to follow the same path. When we face conflicts or problems we cannot overcome, look for another solution, or think of a different method. Maybe we can find it simpler and easier.
Later on, Parzival and his partners, known as the "High Five" on the OASIS scoreboard, solve the hidden clues in the museum and get the second key. But, Nolan Sorrento, the CEO of IOI found out Parzival's true name, Wade Watts, and try to kill him in reality.
This leads to the biggest conflict of the story. It brings Wade many problems, but it also brings Wade to his friends, Art3mis, Aech, Daito and Sho.
From the people's reactions and settings, we can understand that people are taking too much time for the game instead of managing their "real life". People are living in slums, or "the stacks" made of old and discarded vans and containers. The living standard is not good, and most people are quite poor. And this will cause more problems and challenges for him.

The movie also shows many things. Reality is the "REAL World". People hide inside the game since the real world is a mess, but no matter how bad life is, we still have to face it. And, the challenges in the game are just like real life. Everyone faces challenges and problems in real life. But if we enjoy it and be happy, we will not feel as bad.
Therefore, we should enjoy life and don't try to escape from reality because reality is the only place that you can have a real connection with people.
Overall, Ready Player One is quite an interesting movie. It contains metaphors inside with a deeper view of reality and we can learn many things through watching the film.
